Did I mention it’s my birthday month!! So brace yourselves because, in some of the less serious articles this month, I might just be a tad extra chirpy. Starting with this one! I may just keep up that energy all year! Picture a birthday cake of words, sprinkled with the glitter of humor, and served with a side of joyful exaggeration. I mean, it’s the month where the number of candles on my cake is directly proportional to the level of extra in my anecdotes. Here’s to turning the pages of life with a touch of birthday sparkle! ✨🎂

A little late with the last week’s recap because my Friday evening got a little exciting. Balance 😃

This week marked the kickoff of a new sprint, complete with the tech stack equivalent of a surprise party – and guess what? C++ crashed in as the unexpected VIP. It’s been a solid year since I last used it, so I thought, “Why not?” Cue my impromptu C++ refresher course. But hold up, it gets better – I got to spin my coding magic on a feature I’ve never worked on before. 🎉✨ Now, I’m sworn to secrecy on some nitty-gritty details, thanks to a contract that’s got my lips (or fingers, in this case) sealed. Let the coding adventure continue! 💻🤐

I’ve become the paparazzi of error messages, capturing screenshots of build errors and sharing them with my teammates for help. Why? Because let’s be real, if you’re not binging, see what I did there, your way through documentation and sharing error pics with your colleagues, are you even coding?

Picture this, neatly documented errors, with their screenshots, cause of the problem when it occurred, and of course the main event –  solutions to these problems. Hey, who knows when they’ll strike again! This is a trick I have of learning and getting quicker and smarter at solving these errors that come up in the daily life of a software engineer. The next error needs to watch out, I’ve got a cheat sheet loaded with sass and solutions. And of course space for another new defeated error to my collection. 💻🕵️‍♂️

Here’s the golden nugget I discovered in this week’s adventure: You’re not a  superhero if you know it all. The real MVP move? Asking for help on time! It’s like adding turbo boosters to your journey, whatever it is. So, my dear reader, remember: Asking for help doesn’t dim your shine; it’s the secret sauce to make you sparkle brighter! 💻✨

Ah, C++, the elusive charmer in the world of coding. It’s like that mysterious friend who takes a bit longer to warm up to, but when you finally click, you can’t seem to get enough. I’m not saying C++ is complicated, but if it were a person, it would be that friend who speaks in riddles just for fun. Yet, here I am, strutting into the weekend like a coding rockstar. C++, you sly genius, you’ve got nothing on me! Let’s see each other again next week.💃💻🎉

I got in half my task just in time for the weekend, and that deserves a full on victory dance. Celebrate your wins! However big or small, that way you get psyched to conquer your next challenge. And maybe even enjoy the process while you’re at it. There’s another golden nugget from this week’s adventure.

Unlike last week, I did not have any late nights. Infact, my work schedule was as normal as humanly possible. A 9-6 girlie, right on the dot. Cue the applause! I even embraced the domestic goddess vibes – whipping up dinner like it’s an episode of a cooking show every other night. Every other night because let’s be honest, some nights I’d rather warm up leftovers in the microwave and call it a day. I had time for my personal non work related projects. I talked about that in my last recap incase you’re in the dark as to what those are. So, here’s to reclaiming my nights and being the superhero of a 9-to-6 saga! 🌙🍲💻

My recipes from this week’s dinners:

Baked fish

Roasted butternut

Chicken salads with just grilled chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, avocado and a dressing.

My current read : The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

Incase you missed last week’s recap
