I love a fresh new sprint! This new task has me back on React land. It just hit me, I am pretty lucky because I get to switch between programming languages alot! That way I can comfortably add more and more skills to my resume! Who would complain about that!

If you’re wondering what in the world I’m blabbering on about, just look at my other articles and you’ll find yourself caught up in my programming escapades.

Yours truly decided to treat herself to a much-deserved day off this week – and why, you ask? Well, because drumroll please… it was my birthday! 🥳

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Enough with the birthday babble already!” But hey, can you blame me? The 21st of this month was the real deal – Lulu day! And like any self-respecting human being would, I celebrated it in style. A morning of reading all the wonderful heartfelt birthday messages; A blissful massage that knocked me right out, followed by a dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant where my love and I had the best of laughs. Oh, and let’s not forget the pièce de résistance – the fanciest, shmanciest bottle of wine you ever did see! And yes, it tasted divine!🍷

This was just the cherry on top. The weekend prior was an absolute blast, with all my dearest friends joining me for wine-tasting with the loveliest sommelier I’ve ever met, and believe me, I’ve met a few.  So here’s to birthdays, wine, laughter, and living life to the fullest – cheers to another trip around the sun! Cue “I like this little life”. 🎶 ☀️

The rest of the week saw me creating new pages with certain information that I can’t really speak about… but when I can, you will be the first to know 😉.  It isn’t always as straightforward as it sounds because when you’re building for production you’ve got to dot your i’s, cross your t’s, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

I also had my weekly session with my mentee. While you might think that in a mentor-mentee dynamic, the mentor does all the teaching, I learn just as much from my mentee as she does from me! It’s a two-way street of enlightenment. Every week for 45min to an hour I get to see the things I’m used to from a different perspective, challenge my assumptions and that pushes me to think outside the box; in terms of, inspiring others and also being a better engineer. So here’s to the magic of mentorship, where the lines between teacher and student blur, and we all come out a little wiser, a little stronger, and a whole lot more inspired. ✨

Some of my thoughts on having a mentor.

Time to make dinner. Tonight at casa de Lulu – Tomato ricotta pasta: Disclaimer I play around with my own recipe but this is the closest one I could find that’s similar to what I do.

Current read: Call me Mummy by Tina Baker

Open bottle of wine: Orange Gold Gérard Bertrand

See you next week!
