Yes, I’ve had 4 day work weeks, jealous ? Don’t be, I just took a day off here and there. But now that we’re on the subject, 4 day work weeks sound delightful don’t they? Except for the part where I had to do quite a bit more to makeup for that one day I was away. Not that it was required by the company, but it felt l needed to. Personal pressure. Is that healthy? I don’t know but I don’t mind it. I like the feeling of ticking stuff off my to-do list, especially when I do them to the best of my ability. Sometimes I do get a little frustrated when work goes over the time it needs to but I have learnt that will always happen; no matter how well I plan. There are just unexpected variables that pop up unexpectedly. Life needs to stay interesting doesn’t it?
I can think of so many other things I can make time for if I had a 4 day work week, my blog for one, personal projects, hobbies; but I still enjoy working the full 5 days. Still on the occasion I take one day off in a week, I prefer it be either a Monday or a Friday. For the long weekend of course. My favourite kind is the one where I have absolutely nothing planned and stay home the entire time. Napping in-between naps 😉 . It gets me all energetic for the next couple of working days, even weeks at times. On the occasion the day off falls plonk in the middle of the week, well, then I just won’t get out of bed at all. Just kidding… Depends on how I’m feeling or what I have on my long to-do list.
With that little said, remember to take time off to just rest, or intentionally set a weekend aside for recuperating. Your mind and body will thank you!
